FAQ's

Where is it held?

The class takes place in a private residence in downtown New Braunfels utilizing a state-of-the-art commercial pizza kitchen

How long does it take?

Classes average four hours each

How much is the class?

$85 per student, plus applicable taxes

What do I bring or wear?

Students should be dressed with safety and comfort in mind. Please wear closed-toe shoes (and we do understand many will be on vacation and this isn’t an option, so we do have some ‘kitchen appropriate’ shoes for sale) and shirts with sleeves (can be long or short). Please remove any jewelry (other than wedding rings) and long hair should be pulled back. Finally, and for the duration of the cooking class, you need to agree to comply with all state, county, and city laws.

What do I get?

Other than a one-of-a-kind true Neapolitan experience, you will get:

  • A spiral bound cookbook highlighting everything we taught in class
  • A stick drive with pictures of you in class (including launching your pizzas)
  • Non-alcoholic beverages
  • Wurst Pizzaiolo items for sale (like coffee mugs, aprons, T-shirts, hats, etc.)

What do I learn?

This is a hands-on demonstration, so you will walk away with both learning and demonstrating:

  • Kitchen safety and food handling rules
  • The history of ‘true’ Neapolitan pizza
  • Why the ingredients are important, which ones to use, and why you always weigh them
  • The ‘original’ recipe for Neapolitan dough
  • How to mix, knead, and mature your dough
  • How to make perfect dough balls
  • How to ‘slap’ and form your crust
  • The two most authentic recipes, and the correct way to put ingredients on your pizza
  • How to launch and turn your pizza in the oven
  • How to cut and serve your pie
  • How you can replicate this at home without a $10,000 commercial oven

Can you suggest places to stay in town?

There are a number of great spots in town to stay, including:

  • Airbnb
  • Comfort Suites

  • Faust Hotel and Brew Pub
  • Hampton Inn & Suites
